Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010

An apt reflection of Delhi government's ability to handle infrastructural transition ...

All eyes in the world are focused on Delhi governments preparedness to handle forthcoming commonwealth games. two factors primarily weigh for this consideration. infrastructure and environment. There is no doubt in it that infrastructure is not yet ready and all agencies in the capital are working round the clock to meet the deadline challenge. a negative factor which has added to complicacy is heavy rain which has been lashing Delhi for the last few weeks. Water logging and slushing are some problems which are creating hindrance to smooth construction work for stadia as well as other games venues. in spite of these hurdles' the government is determined to complete venues in time. coupled with it is another problem which has created confusion among participating countries. Outbreak of rain generated diseases has created some sort of concern abroad, even not panic. participating countries as well as players are anxious to know gravity of such problems' many countries have written to organizers of games requesting them to apprise them of the extent o health risks' not only this, some countries are sending their own medical team in case Indian authorities have downplayed gravity of health risk. Whatever the case may be participating countries are making their own assessments and want to ensure that everything will be ok ' once games start in October. Accommodation for visiting players, their families and spectators is another problem which authorities are facing. Accommodation in the capital .in any case is expected to be ready by the time games begin.

Hoping for things to go smooth…
